— Roskilde Festival Statement
Does poverty and social inequality exist in Denmark? I believe so, and so does Roskilde Festival. This year Roskilde Festival wants to point out, shout out, provoke, shape the debate, be heard and make a statement. However, it was required that the statement should fit the size of a go-card.
To start a debate, you have to have a starting point; an assertion which can then be discussed. I have tried with my go-cards to put up a number of allegations which provoke and encourage debate - especially if they are used in a context. The warning is printed as a sticker. It can be removed and glued on to different places where the warning, in a relevant context, is even more provocative. Visually, they are designed as smoking warnings on cigarette packages. It is a simple visual language which people already know and understand, both in Denmark but also internationally.
